Who are we?

Vintage Faith is a Jesus-centered family of believers, united in following Jesus, loving our neighbors, and proclaiming the gospel in every area of life.

What we mean by “vintage” faith is that we want to carry the historical traditions of the New Testament church into the 21st century world.  At the center of those traditions is devotion to Jesus Christ.  The world doesn’t need more religion but rather more of Jesus Christ.  We want to follow Him and show that the gospel is believable and beautiful through our lives and our community.

How did we get here?

The seeds of Vintage Faith Wichita were planted in a campus ministry in Manhattan, Kansas.  A group of students from K-State who attended Vintage Faith in Manhattan began to dream about moving together to start a Christ-centered church in Wichita.

In the summer of 2013, a group of young people landed in Wichita. With Pastor Tom at the helm, we found jobs and houses and started getting involved in the life of the city.

We started meeting Sunday mornings in Tom’s living room, then outgrew that space and moved to Mead’s Corner (may she rest in peace). Several other temporary rental spaces downtown followed, and then in 2016, when our current building became available, we thought it would be a great place to serve the Indian Hills and Riverside communities as a permanent neighbor.

Our intent is to cultivate a Jesus-centered church community focused simply on the life-changing message of the gospel. We want young people, skeptics, and others who have felt outside the church to be able to learn about Jesus and explore the deep questions of life. We are excited to continue growing our community and ministry in the city of Wichita.
