Sermon by Pastor Tom Brown · Nov 17, 2024 · Vision Casting Series

The last two weeks we have reviewed our mission and the 4 pillars of our church family.

Our mission is to reach and train the next generation of disciples. (Matthew 28:19-20) What a joy and a privilege!

God has given us 4 elements that create a vibrant environment for thriving disciples.

1. Gospel: The Word of Grace

The gospel is the dynamite that blasts away our rebellious defenses and opens our lives to the transforming power of grace. It has power to save us through and through. (Romans 1:16)

At Vintage Faith we preach the Word of grace. We preach Christ and him crucified. We’re convinced that faithful, clear expository preaching will always be relevant and life-changing. And we are building a culture of grace that is consistent with the Word of grace.

2. Worship: A New Heart

The right response of the heart to the revelation of a glorious and gracious God is worship. We are worshipping creatures and a disciple-making church will seek to cultivate worship in every aspect of life.

At Vintage we seek to experience the presence of God, abiding in his love and enjoying his glory. Our gatherings will emphasis prayer and seek to bless God as the first priority. (John 15:4)

3. Community: A New Family

To become a disciple of Jesus is to become a member of a new family. That family is the context where we work out our faith in Jesus and become like him. In a devoted community discipleship is caught and matured.

At Vintage we will build authentic and committed relationships where we are fully known and fully loved. We’ll use our gifts to serve one another in the power of the Holy Spirit. (John 13:34-35)

4. Mission: A New Purpose

The Son of Man came to seek and save the lost. (Luke 19:10)

At Vintage we, the 99, will partner with him to seek and save the 1’s. We will be committed to evangelism and works of service in our spheres of influence. We will support and participate in global missions.

The power is in the doing

It is one thing to know these things. It is another to devote ourselves to them. There is mighty power released in our lives when each of us commit to these 4 elements of our church environment.
