Sermon by Pastor Tom Brown · Jun 07, 2026 · Colossians Series

To close our series in Colossians we see that Paul’s letter, like the gospel, begins and ends with grace (1:2 and 4:18). Grace is the diving board and it is the pool. You can’t get in without it and you can’t get away from it once you’re in.

The 11 names recorded in Colossians 4:7-18 highlight the power of grace. Each name comes with a story of enduring significance.

Together the family of grace in Paul’s closing words teach me three things:

1. If you want a life of lasting significance, give yourself to the Lord
2. When you sign up for the Lord’s work you become a beloved family member
3. The basis of our work in the Lord must always be character
