Sermon by Pastor Tom Brown · Jan 25, 2026 · Means of Grace Series
We have reached the end of our series on the Means of Grace. Our final topic is personal evangelism.

I think Andrew, the lesser known brother of Peter, is a fascinating study.

John’s gospel contains 3 moments that all involved Andrew as someone who made connections between Jesus and other people. (John 1:29-42, 6:5-9 & 12:20-26)

The most significant of those was the moment he brought his brother to meet Jesus.

He first found his own brother Simon and said to him, “We have found the Messiah” (which means Christ).  He brought him to Jesus.

That moment anticipated a process that would take place millions of times all over the world.

Christianity exploded from a crowd of 120 to 34,000,000 in three hundred years.

The primary method of that growth was personal evangelism – ordinary people bringing their friends, family, neighbors, coworkers, etc. to Jesus.

May the Lord use you and I to follow the steps of Andrew, an ordinary guy who was amazed by Jesus and told people about him everywhere he went.

Who will be the next person that is brought to Jesus at Vintage Faith?

Tom Brown is the planting pastor of Vintage Faith Church in Wichita. Tom and his wife, Mandy, have worked together in ministry for over 20 years and have four children. More about Pastor Tom Brown
