The God of love is sovereign over every circumstance, even the darkest sin and the deepest suffering.
This is the message of Mark 14:12-25.
Phrases like “just as Jesus had told them” (16), “just as it is written” (21) and “on that day” (25) highlight the absolute mastery of our Lord over the course of history.
It’s all in his hands and we are racing towards “that day” when he returns to make all things right.
Knowing this sovereign love, we can faithfully follow him no matter what the circumstance.
