How do you keep going forward when you feel like you’ve been waiting on God forever and you can’t stand it anymore?
Sometimes life feels like we are stuck in a waiting room.
This Advent I want you to know that you are not alone in the waiting room.
In 1 Samuel 23-24, we find David the King in his own waiting room with much we can learn from him.
In the waiting, when you are tempted to give up on the Lord’s timing . . .
1. Stay committed to a cause bigger than yourself. (1 Samuel 23:1-2)
2. Keep inquiring of the Lord. (23:4)
3. Keep fellowship with other faithful waiters. (23:16-17)
4. Keep pouring your heart out to the Lord. (Ps. 54)
5. Stay committed to values bigger than yourself. (24:5-6)
And what if I have already failed these lessons?
Then I must remember the most important lesson of all . . .
When you fall short in the waiting, remember that Jesus did not.
