This is a year of prayer at Vintage Faith.
We don’t all think of the same thing when we hear that.
Some think of prayer as getting stuff from God.
Others think of a duty we must perform for God.
And for some prayer is an activity for people who want to feel spiritual or religious.
The biblical concept of prayer includes all of that but is much, much more.
Today we will see more in Psalm 63.
Prayer is for passion. (1-3)
Prayer is for satisfaction. (5-8)
Prayer is for strength. (9-11)
Biblical prayer is a continuous experience of the human heart finding its home in God.
The prayer modeled for us in Psalm 63 is a call to the deepest desires of the human heart. It’s a call to deep and abiding satisfaction in God. It’s a call to strength and stability in the face of our greatest trials.
This is the prayer we’re looking for in 2024.
